Holiday themed books are undeniably adorable, but let’s be honest, purchasing a bunch of books that only get used for a short time once a year isn’t necessarily practical. In this post, I'll be sharing our favourite books that celebrate love and kindness without a specific 'Valentine's Day' theme!

Books That Celebrate Love and Kindness for Preschoolers:

1. I’ve Loved You Since Forever by Hoda Kotb - If you’re looking for a beautifully written and illustrated book that expresses unconditional love, I’ve Loved You Since Forever is a must-have. This sweet and simple story is a love letter to a child, capturing the idea that they were meant to be in your life all along.

2. Love From the Crayons by Drew Daywalt and Oliver Jeffers - This fun story talks about all the colours that can represent love - a great way to reinforce the concept of love, and also providing a fun review of colours!

3. I’ll Love You Till the Cows Come Home by Kathryn Cristaldi - An absolute favourite in our house, this cute story offers a fun mix of humour and heartfelt affection. The rhyming text takes you through a variety of imaginary scenarios, all with a touching message of love.

4. Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney - A true classic, Guess How Much I Love You is one of those books that never goes out of style. This beloved story follows Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hare as they try to express just how much they love each other. The sweet, relatable dialogue and gentle illustrations make it a perfect book for preschoolers and a wonderful addition to any home library. Bonus: the rabbit theme makes it a great pick for Easter as well!

ABC’s of Kindness by Patricia Hegarty - We love this series of books, and this cute story is perfect for Valentine's Day as it walks through the alphabet with messages about compassion, generosity, and love.
